STAY EDUCATED. STAY AWARE.

Cancer is the most dangerous under-recognized threat to the health and safety to our nation’s firefighters.

OVERCOMING STARTS WITH EDUCATION

Since our founding in 2005, FCSN has been all about providing assistance and support to cancer-stricken firefighters and their families. Our vision is to be the global leader in firefighter cancer support, awareness and education. Our mission is to assist firefighters and EMS providers and their immediate families diagnosed with cancer by providing badge to badge support, training and guidance.

Today the Naperville Fire department is a leader in cancer prevention and awareness initiatives in the fire service where we are always looking for ways to improve our practices to further reduce the cancer risks our firefighters face every day.

Andy Dina

While completing research for my degree program’s capstone project on firefighter cancer prevention, I learned there was no FCSN representation in South Carolina and immediately knew that it needed to change.

Brad Kavetski

I am very grateful to be in remission, and anything I can do to help relieve someone else’s anxiety and worry is so rewarding. I always tell people, “Don’t let the cancer interfere with your life any more than it has to.”

Joe Nestor

LEARNING IS THE FIRST STEP

Our content is designed to engage our nation’s firefighters and their fire departments in a mass effort to prevent and reduce their risk of occupational cancer. Our curriculum contains information and tools that educate firefighters and raise awareness about why cancer cases are on the rise in the fire service and how to limit their day-to-day exposures to carcinogens.
